Did Robert Capa’s dispatches from the beach at Normandy alter our view of war? Did Harry Benson’s photography of the Beatles deplaning in New York in 1964 alter our cultural focus? Celebrating the power of the still image, this updated edition of LIFE: 100 Photographs That Changed the World features a portfolio ranging from legendary photographs to the most potent images of recent times.
The photographs are sometimes beautiful, often striking and undeniably powerful. On occasion, the editors offer provocative arguments on their behalfs. How does LIFE view 9/11? Abu Ghraib? The murders long ago in Mississippi so recently brought to justice? LIFE views these events, not in a political sense, but in the way pictures spoke the story.

Great images! Many I've not seen before but they also included the very famous. Again I'm using it at school for 8th graders and it's fun to see their reactions to the old photos as well as some of the ones from other time periods. I originally bought it as a gift for my father but it is so great I'm taking it to school to share!
