If you are looking for a wide variety of uses for cat hair, this is not the book for you, as it is a limited scope of projects. That being said, they are adorable! I actually bought this as a gift for my mother, as we don't currently have a cat. It has a lot of fun tidbits about cats and cat care, and the pictures are clear and well done. If we ever get a cat again, I am getting a copy for myself!

This is a lovely book. It is pretty to look at and gives you several projects with which to use the brushings from your pet. Even if you were not to make any of the projects, it is a sweet book to own and look at. The simple projects are fun and for those of us who like simple projects and love our Cats it is a must have.

I agree with the reviews that say it's not weird to use cat hair that you're brushing out anyway; cats love being brushed, and my cat is a Turkish Angora so the stuff is softer than cashmere. However, as others have said, the book just has you making little felt things - it may interest some people to learn how to felt, but I was hoping to make actual yarn. Guess I'll have to hire someone with a spinning wheel.

There have been books on the subject for years coming out of Japan and other countries, so it was pleasantly surprising to see we have finally caught up. The projects are fun, cute, and amusing. I AM a weird old cat lady, and proud of my rescues; no one I have gifted cat or pet oriented crafts to over the years has indicated any distress, only joy and and occasionally, amazement. I'd like to point out that ppl have used real feathers, fur, pet hair and whiskers in the most sophisticated embroideries and tapestries for hundreds of years. The difference here
from feather or fur is obvious - the target animal is not harmed. I applaud that, and to those of you disgusted -- this space is for reviews, not for trolls to opine foolishly about that which they do not understand.

first, why are you reviewing a book that you haven't read people? or don't intend to buy? the star system is for people who have BOUGHT the book and can give an intelligent review.
if you're allergic - don't buy it.
if you're grossed out - don't buy it (and why? you probably have wool, a fur coat, or leather in your closet.)
and to the reviewer who said this was for only crazy old cat ladies with 90 cats - how offensive YOU are!
and the one's who said something about nail clippings and shaver hair? oh please.
this is a cool book, and from one crazy old cat lady (who rescues by the way - yeah, we do some good ya think?!) to another... get it. it's cool.
now if we could figure out what to do with the potty stuff, well we'd be in business! :o)
