Knit Your Own Cat

The book knitters who love cats have been waiting for is here. From the geniuses who brought you the 2011 big hit Knit Your Own Dog comes the brilliant Knit Your Own Cat. The 16 petite kitties in Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne's ode to frisky felines are absolutely adorable and much simpler to knit than they look with easy-to-follow instructions. Learn to knit tabbys, Persians, Siamese, black cats, Bengals and all sorts of frisky felines stretching, pouncing, playing, prowling, switching their tails, curled up for a nap and doing all the cute and quirky things kitties do. Cats and yarn balls have long gone hand in hand. But now instead of your cat playing with a yarn ball, you can turn a yarn ball into your cat!

Strange Kitties
March 01, 2012

I too own the knitted dog book by the same author- they are darling and look like the breeds. I don't think these look like cats breeds at all and the eyes are just plain strange and in the wrong place on some. One long hair cat looks like it has mange. If you are a good knitter I think you could salvage this by using the basic design and making your own modifications. If you are not comfortable modifying patterns then don't bother buying the book.

Disappointing
February 26, 2012

I have knit your own dog and the dogs really look like the breeds they represented so I bought this book thinking it would be just as good. The cats in this book look generic. You wouldn't look at them and be able to identify the breed like you would with the dog book.
