Not just for kids
July 29, 2009

I bought this book to start a library for my daughter who is due in November. Though I still have months before she arrives I've enjoyed flipping through and reading the stories I enjoyed as a child. I'm so glad to have this collection to share with my daughter.

My four year old granddaughter and I love this book. We pick it up frequently. Also, my eight year old granddaughter loves reading the stories.

Perfect baby shower gift
October 05, 2008

Reading to babies and toddlers is beneficial for many reasons, but have you priced children's books lately? Rather than gifting a new mom-to-be with a quickly outgrown baby outfit, I gift them with this wonderful collection of children's books and stories. Parents and grandparents alike are clearly delighted as they page through this book and find a favorite story from their own childhood. For those of us without children, it is a good chance to catch up on the outstanding books we've missed over the last couple decades. There is a parents' guide, and color coded icons on each page to help choose age-appropriate stories. Pictures appear four to a page, but books were chosen so they would not suffer from being reduced in size. Other stories are intended for older children, or for the parent to read aloud. There is something for everyone here. I highly recommend this book.

We have read stories from this book to our 4 year old almost every night for the year we've had it. We recently bought another copy for friends of ours who have 3 year old twins.
